Huzzah Valley Quarter Horses is a family owned and operated business, started by Bob and Karen Cottrell in 1979 in Steelville, Missouri. Bob along with his wife Karen have been avid competitors since the 60's showing quality American Quarter Horses. Among these horses was the great stallion, Champ Dowdy, whom they won many awards in multiple events. Go By Boston was the next stallion that the Cottrell's stood and promoted as one of the premier pleasure stallions of his time. Through the years raising superior quarter horses has been their aspiration and dedicated hard work has made Huzzah Valley Quarter Horses what it is today. “A Look Back In Time”

Although showing and raising quarter horses has been the Cottrell's passion Huzzah Valley Camping Resort has been their primary business since 1979. Starting out with only a few canoes, campsites, and trail riding it has evolved to become Missouri's Most Complete Camping Resort. With five children; Holly, Julie, Corey, Colin, and Karey each has been involved in the growth of the resort. Presently, Colin and Corey manage the resort while little sister Karey and husband Jess Franz came to manage Huzzah Valley Quarter Horses in 2004.

Since 2004, Jess and Karey have taken on the same dedication and passion towards raising quality quarter horses as the last generation. With the addition of their premier stallion High Rollin Cat they feel that the program has set the standard for Missouri in raising quality quarter horses that excel in roping, cutting, and reined cow horse. Jess is a rising star in the roping arena and takes great pride in horsemanship and making great rope horses that go on with world champions such as Rich Skelton. Karey is an avid competitor in both the NCHA and NRCHA gaining top 10 world status in both disciplines. Both Jess and Karey strive to promote their great C Bar horses showing and competing all over the United States.

Over the years we have acquired some of the best broodmares in the industry to help promote our young stallion High Rollin Cat. If you want foundation breeding, athletic ability, movement, trainability, and a great mind this young stallion will bring your program to a new level.
